My tutor pulled me up for a chat yesterday, in which he basically told me he really suggests I stay on at college to do the foundation course ‘cause he doesn’t think I’ve thrown myself into the course now & haven’t got the most out of it “/.
He doesn’t think my works upto the standard it should…
Don’t worry about growing up. Uni has nothing to do with that. If you’re being recommended to stay back at college another year, I’d do it. That way, you have another year to prepare for uni and to get yourself in a position to do even better when you get there. Besides, next year you might even be in a group with people in pretty much the same position as you. They might just want to do the work as best they can. As far as your parents go, just explain to them that you don’t think you’re ready to go to uni just yet, and you want to make sure you are before you land yourself in a load of debt. You’ll be fine Chlo, it just takes a while sometimes. I never even went to uni and I’m doing pretty good. Well, I think so at least haha
overconfidence-and-a-screwdriver:
A little backstory to this clip before you watch it:
Will Smith’s father abandoned him and his mother when he was a child, and when Will was finally getting into show business and making a name for himself, he tried to sneak his way back into his life like nothing happened. Will co-wrote this episode, and James Avery (Uncle Phil) said “this scene was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to shoot in my life. Every emotion, every word.. that was Will”
Will was actually supposed to play it off and then walk away, and there was originally an alternate scene that was supposed to happen, but he actually completely cut out what was supposed to be said, and did all of his own dialogue. The hug at the end of this scene is completely genuine, and this was a stepping stone in Will’s career where he started to take on the “do what feels, sounds, and looks right” approach to his acting.
I cannot watch this scene without crying. I cry every time I see it! Crying now!
Well shit.
I’ve reblogged this before, and I’ll reblog it again. And I think Mr Smith has proven to the entire world what an excellent, present father he can be.
Reasons why The Fresh Prince is the best sitcom ever made.
I get goosebumps every time I see this… Love “Fresh Prince” and absolutely adore Will. I saw him IRL last spring and I couldn’t believe my eyes…one of my all time favorite actors. <3
What they said ^^^
Will Smith is easily my favourite celebrity. about 30% of that is the fact that, other than the line or two about Eminem in one of his songs way back when, he doesn’t dabble in bitching about other celebrities. He just gets on with it and does his thing, and does it better than anyone else. This scene is evidence of that. If you need more, just watch any of his movies (except Wild Wild West).
how can a girl text/play and be cute at the same time?
Because she’s RINA and therefore the cutest thing since sliced bread.
Because they are not mutually exclusive, and she is asian and white people are racist against not asian females when it comes to aesthetics?
I’m pretty sure this Tumblr is run by someone in Asia. That’s where, like, 95% of SCANDAL’s none-Japan fanbase resides.
She’s pretty cute anyway. Rina Suzuki, if you’re at all interested.
And that’s why I don’t by Apple products.
This probably had more to do with them being 90 days away from bankruptcy than anything else. If it means you’re going to go out of business, stop giving money away. Economics 101.
Still, I’d like to think he started it back up again when they were back in the black.
Yeah, but they still get underpaid/overworked/disadvantaged people to make their products. If this convinces you to boycott Apple and slave-labour doesn’t, you need to sort out your priorities.
You;d have to boycott pretty much every electronics company in the world. Microsoft, Sony, Samsung and all the resy, they all have their stuff made in China. Most of it by the same company, Foxconn. Apple just get the most attention for it because they’re the biggest. Not saying they shouldn’t get any attention for it, but they do more to raise the living and working standards at Foxconn than anyone else. They force Foxconn to raise the standards, which they can do because they’re Foxconn’s biggest customer.
Apple get the most attention because they publicly stated being against the practise and to change, but did nothing about it.
Please note that I’m on my iPhone right now. I don’t have anything against Apple (well - that’s not entirely true), I’m just making a point.
Fair enough. It was the bit about boycotting that got me a bit defensive. I try not to be a fanboy, but I find it very hard when I like the products so much :’)
You know what I don’t understand?
That really skinny censor bar that only covers up like 1/100th of the penis in mangas
Legal obligation, because it might offend and scare the japanese population who don’t have a penis and/or vagina.
